Today I sit down with Scout Chavers to talk about her experience growing up as a black woman in the South, her work in the yoga and birth worlds, as well as what spiritual communities are missing.

Scout has matriarchal healing in her blood and comes from a family of strong cultured mothers who advocate and help other women. As a 29 year old with no children, Scout has decided to dedicate her time and ultimately her life to supporting women in all stages of their personal journeys including but not limited to: puberty, discovering sexuality, conceiving a child, pregnancy and postpartum. Embracing her personal practices of spirituality, ritual and tradition, Scout enjoys cultivating and connecting communities of women and people of color through teaching yoga, self care modalities, childbirth preparation and intimacy classes. She enjoys helping women get in touch with their divine identities and step in to their feminine power.

You can find Scout in Austin, Texas teaching Hatha Flow, Vinyasa, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga as well as various childbirth education and self care/exploration gatherings. The communities she is affiliated with include but are not limited to: Austin Born, Yoga Yoga, Austin Area Birthing Center, SHADES of Movement yoga collective & LoveWildAwake.
